The Advanced Practice Provider - Medical Oncology is an advanced practice nurse or physician assistant with specialty training to practice in an oncology setting. This APP will evaluate diagnoses, clinically monitor and manage oncology, hematology patients utilizing advanced assessment skills and knowledge of clinical therapeutics. The APP role is an integrated one, which includes clinical, educational, and research components. Other roles include but are not limited to chemotherapy teaching, cancer surveillance and symptom management. The APP demonstrates expertise in providing clinical care and counseling to individuals concerned about medical oncology. Job Specifics: Our hematology/oncology team is growing and is excited to welcome an APP to join us at the OSF Healthcare Cancer Institute. The Cancer Institute is attached to OSF Francis Medical Center, a level one trauma center in Peoria, Illinois This APP would practice at top of license while collaborating with physicians in providing care. Schedule is primarily Monday-Friday with no weekend call. Services offered include IV chemotherapy, oral chemotherapy adherence programs, clinical trials, radiation therapy, managing side effects and survivorship. OSF Healthcare Cancer Institute The Cancer Institue welcomed our first patient in February 2024. We estimate that this 200,000 square foot modern building will serve 3,700 cancer patients annually. Patients will find infusion facilities, dietary guidance, diagnostic testing, cancer support services, surgery and radiation therapy all on campus. Our cancer experts collaborate to develop a tailored treatment plan to meet patients medical and emotional needs. We focus on the whole person, providing a patient-centered experience. We are home to the OSF Breakthrough Treatment Center, where we provide people battling difficult-to-treat cancers access to the most promising medical breakthroughs, novel therapies and clinical trials from around the world. Accreditation include American College of Surgeons - Commission on Cancer (CoC), National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a national program overseen by the American College of Surgeons. Recognition of excellence by National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), American College of Radiography in breast ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), mammography, MRI, nuclear medicine and ultrasound
