About The Position

Seattle Children’s is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for a unique hybrid position that bridges inpatient epilepsy care and outpatient general neurology. Ranked among the top 10 pediatric neurology and neurosurgery programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report , our Neurosciences Center offers a collaborative environment where APPs play a vital role in managing complex neurological conditions. Key Responsibilities Inpatient: Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) Unit Management: Partner closely with epileptologists to run the EMU. Clinical Care: Manage admissions, daily care, medication titration/adjustments, and discharges for pediatric epilepsy patients. Neuromodulation: Assist in the management of advanced devices, including VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation), RNS (Responsive Neurostimulation), and DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation). Outpatient: General Neurology Clinic Panel Management: Maintain an independent outpatient clinic with a dedicated patient panel. Clinical Scope: Evaluate and treat a variety of conditions, including first seizures, headaches/migraines, tics, and tremors. Urgent Triage: Serve as the "Provider of the Day" to assist with urgent neurology triage and immediate clinical needs. Schedule & Expectations Shift Structure: 10-hour shifts as part of a rotating team. Coverage: Shifts span Monday through Sunday. Flexibility: Evening and weekend clinics may be required based on departmental needs. Travel: Includes clinics at regional sites such as Bellevue and Federal Way. Why Seattle Children’s? Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
  • One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington.
  • Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner
  • For Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington
  • Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • For All Providers: Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment.
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.
  • Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life
