About The Position

The Infusion Advanced Practice Provider (APP) responds to infusion-related emergencies such as allergic or infusion reactions. They also serve as a conduit for communication between the patient's primary care team and the infusion nurses. The types of patients seen in this clinic are diverse and include those with cancer and blood disorders, migraines, and patients receiving care from various specialty services such as rheumatology, gastroenterology (GI), and cardiology. The clinic also provides monoclonal antibody infusions for a range of diseases. Infusion Advanced Practice Providers also access chest ports for intraventricular infusions in patients with Batten's disease. Shifts are 10 hours in length and may be scheduled Monday through Saturday. The Infusion APP will collaborate, refer, and consult with department attending physicians, specialists, and other members of the health care team to deliver effective, efficient, safe, and high quality care. Contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement projects. Participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the health care team.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
  • One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington.
  • Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner.
  • For Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington.
  • Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment.
  • Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing.
