About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider in Gynecologic Oncology at Summa Health is responsible for developing and advancing the quality of advanced practice through specialized direct patient care, leadership, consultation, education, and research. The role focuses on improving processes of care for patients and ensuring quality of patient care by utilizing established standards of care for the specified department. The provider will coordinate services with physicians, care managers, social workers, patient care coordinators, therapists, and other community agencies as appropriate. The position operates in a 100% outpatient setting with no holidays, weekends, or call, and involves rotating between locations in Akron, Green, and Rootstown, managing a patient volume of 10-15 patients per day, including post-op, follow-up, and consults for chemotherapy acute visits.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program or a Master's Degree in Nursing with completion of Advanced Practice program.
  • Current license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse or physician assistant in the state of Ohio.
  • Minimum one year experience as an advanced practice provider preferred.
  • BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Women's Health and/or Oncology.
  • Excellent communication, organizing, self-motivation, accuracy, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret medical documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and all computer programs utilized by the Practice.
