About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant in Palliative Care will provide patient care consultation and treatment to patients with serious illness, supported by a collaborative physician. This position is part-time, on an as-needed basis (PRN), and involves varied day shifts, primarily visiting hospitals in and around Henderson County.

Requirements

• Master’s degree and clinical rotation, preferred.
• 2 years of post-education experience is required.
• Current NP or PA Board Approved Certification.
• Current NC Medical License in good standing.
• Current DEA Registration in good standing.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Palliative care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work to achieve performance goals and pursue progress toward individual development plan (IDP).
• Provide direct client care consultations, including participation in patient and family counseling and management of symptoms related to life-limiting conditions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Take clinical call for palliative care clients.
• Actively participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings for development and evaluation of the clients' plan of care.
• Create and maintain accurate patient records.
• Practice within the scope of license, certification or registration, as required by law and regulation.
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff of Four Seasons and providers in the community.
• Maintain current medical education and appropriate licensure.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
