The Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC), a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center, is looking for an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Advanced Practice Provider, “APP”) to join our oncology outpatient team at the Moncrief Cancer Institute in Fort Worth, TX. As a community oncology provider, this provider will deliver high-quality, evidence-based gynecologic oncology and medical oncology care. This APP will provide care to patients in outpatient independent clinic visits alternating with our gynecologic oncologists and medical oncologists. These visits will include pre- and post- chemotherapy visits, toxicity checkups, symptom management, post-surgical checkups, which may include procedures, or surveillance visits. Although this is a role primarily supporting our GYN Onc providers, this provider will also provide cross coverage for our medical oncologists who see a variety of patients with solid and hematologic malignancies. In addition to clinic, this provider will also help to oversee the infusion center on site and provide coverage in conjunction with the other APP team members on site for rapid responses or urgent oncologic needs during chemotherapy infusions (Provider In Attendance- PIA coverage). Ideal candidates will have 2 years + of experience as an APP in oncology. Additionally, a background in gynecology, women’s health, or hematologic malignancies may be helpful.
