About The Position

The Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Advanced Practice Fellowship is a postgraduate dermatology fellowship designed to educate highly qualified graduate nurse practitioners and physician assistants, transforming them into skilled, compassionate, and efficient dermatology providers. This fellowship aims to enhance clinical proficiencies through a combination of didactic education and hands-on patient care, fostering advanced techniques and expertise in a fast-paced medical environment. The program emphasizes a multidisciplinary healthcare approach, encouraging collaboration among a team of accomplished healthcare providers and interaction with various specialties. Spanning one year, the Dermatology Fellowship consists of both clinical and formal didactic education, primarily focusing on general medical dermatology. The educational component includes daily one-hour lectures, monthly Grand Rounds, and participation in an annual dermatology educational conference. Additionally, fellows will have the opportunity to engage in multiple clinical electives, which may include time spent in pediatric dermatology, complex medical dermatology, and dermatologic surgery. The fellowship is set to commence on Monday, June 2, 2025, and applicants must have graduated in 2024 or any year prior to be eligible for this year's program. Nurse Practitioner candidates are required to have "Family" certification, as the fellowship involves caring for patients across the lifespan, primarily in an outpatient setting.
