About The Position

Seattle Children’s is seeking a skilled and collaborative Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding Radiology APP team. This unique role offers the opportunity to practice at the top of your license, performing independent diagnostic procedures while providing critical cross-coverage support to our Interventional Radiology (IR) services. As an APP in our department, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing safe, high-quality imaging and minimally invasive interventions for the pediatric population. Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
  • One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington
  • Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner
  • For Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington
  • Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • For All Providers: Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment.
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.
  • Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life

Nice To Haves

  • Two years experience in advanced practice provider role
  • Two years experience in pediatric health care

Responsibilities

  • Perform and interpret fluoroscopic studies, including esophograms, upper GI studies, small bowel follow-throughs, cystograms, and central venous catheter studies.
  • Conduct patient consults, comprehensive History & Physicals (H&Ps), and obtain informed consent for various radiologic procedures.
  • Assist Radiologists in the IR suite and perform bedside procedures as required.
  • Work closely with attending physicians, specialists, and the broader healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Contribute to departmental performance improvement projects and participate in clinical research and educational initiatives for patients and staff.
  • As the team grows, there may be future opportunities or expectations to participate in after-hours and overnight fluoroscopic coverage.
