The position is located at West Dodge Medical Plaza (WDMP) Dermatology, Address: 515 N 162nd Ave. Omaha, NE. The work schedule is M-F 8a-5p, 40 hours per week. The role provides quality of care and safety to patients and employees. Nebraska Methodist Health System is made up of four hospitals in Nebraska and southwest Iowa, more than 30 clinic locations, a nursing and allied health college, and a medical supply distributorship and central laundry facility. Requirements

  • Graduate of Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.
  • Satisfactory completion of annual mandatory education requirements.
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, valid state license and certification as Nurse Practitioner.
  • Two years previous clinical experience required in Dermatology.
  • Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) License, valid compact multi-state license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure required.
  • Current valid Nurse Practitioner (APRN.NP.NE or ARNP.IA) licensure for work state required.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 3 months of hire.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving and medical judgement skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients, family members and hospital personnel/co-workers.
  • Ability to perform numerous tasks at once.

Nice To Haves

  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform primary health care for patients by utilizing the processes of assessment and diagnosis of health status.
  • Implement interventions consistent with the established plan of care in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Evaluate patient care to determine response to care/interventions for optimal patient outcome.
  • Provide patient and family teaching and education specific to the patient's health care.
  • Maintain a professional behavior in attitudes, demeanor, and interactions to achieve organization's mission.
  • Comply with the bylaws, rules and regulations of the organization as they pertain to Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
  • Maintain complete patient records.
  • Participate in performance improvement and outcome management.
  • Provide appropriate care specific to the age of the patient to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment as outlined in the "Age Specific Criteria".
