This position ensures that patient care is delivered in a cost-effective manner, managing and utilizing resources optimally. The Advanced Practice Nurse works collaboratively with physician leaders, administration and staff to improve clinical outcomes. This position participates in quality improvement efforts organization-wide and plays an active role as a member of the appropriate divisional and departmental committees. The Advanced Practice Nurse maintains current technical knowledge and seeks educational and professional opportunities to enhance clinical practice and competency. The Advanced Practice Nurse contributes towards the organization's educational programs and teaching activities. This position participates in the peer review process to enhance clinical practice, demonstrating sound judgment and respect for colleagues.

Requirements

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with NP certification (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care preferred).
Extensive experience in Cardiac ICU or related critical care settings.
Proficiency in managing patients on ECMO and Mechanical Circulatory Support devices.
Strong understanding of cardiac surgery and post-operative care for patients undergoing complex procedures.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work with an interdisciplinary team.
Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school or as grandfathered by NJ Law required.
Current licensure as a RN in the State of NJ and certified by the State Board of Nursing.
Certification within area of specialty required and granted privileges from ARMC medical staff.
NRNNP, C or RNCNS, C registry unencumbered.
ACLS required in Urgent Care, AtlantiCare Physician Group and Heart Failure Program
BLS required.
Minimum 2 years experience in field of specialty as RN in State of New Jersey.
Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced care for patients with acute cardiac conditions in the ICU, including those requiring ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) and MCS (Mechanical Circulatory Support).
Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team of cardiologists, surgeons, and specialists in performing complex cardiac surgeries, including heart transplants, LVAD placements, and coronary artery bypass surgeries.
Monitor and manage patients pre- and post-surgery, ensuring optimal outcomes in high-acuity settings.
Lead and guide the ICU team in delivering evidence-based practices and cutting-edge cardiac interventions.
Serve as a critical resource for families, providing support and education during challenging moments.
