About The Position

Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our Structural Heart team. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a highly collaborative and experienced group of providers who work closely together to deliver comprehensive care to patients with complex cardiac and valvular disease. Position Highlights Mix of inpatient (1-2 days) and outpatient (1-2 days) responsibilities each week Join a well-established and collegial team of 6 physicians, 6 APPs, and 10-15 support staff Typical patient population includes individuals with heart valve disease and related cardiac conditions Outpatient duties: See new patients and follow-ups in preparation for cardiac procedures Inpatient duties: Perform rounds, consults, and assist with procedures Procedural support: First assist in TAVR and MitraClip cases Orientation and training: 6-12 months based on experience and skillset Open to new graduates; cardiac background preferred but not required Schedule: Four 10-hour days (Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) Weekend rotation: Every 5 weeks, 7:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Call: Once every two weeks, phone-only night call (5:00 p.m.-8:00 a.m.) with no in-hospital requirements Benefits Highlights Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off, continuing education support, and retirement plan with employer match Opportunities for professional growth and skill advancement in advanced cardiac care Supportive, team-oriented environment emphasizing collaboration, education, and clinical excellence Region/Location Details Located in Norfolk, Virginia, Sentara Heart Hospital is nationally recognized for excellence in cardiovascular care and innovation.
