What you can expect at your practice: Full-time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant supporting cardiac surgery services at WellSpan York Hospital. Join a collaborative team of five experienced mid-level providers (combined 30 years of experience) and four cardiac surgeons. Schedule: Monday-Friday, four 10-hour shifts. Call: One night per week (phone) and one weekend per month. Weekend rounding: 6:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., then on-call (phone) for the remainder of the weekend. Call is taken from home; includes floor calls and hospital visits for emergencies. Balance surgical cases across two ORs while managing consults and inpatient care. Conduct consults, patient rounds, and comprehensive assessments. Care for post-op cardiac floor patients and ICU cases; complete discharges. Handle documentation and in-basket tasks.

Requirements

  • Acute Care NP or PA required.
  • Experience in cardiac surgery setting required; no new graduates considered.
  • Must live within 40 minutes of WellSpan York Hospital.

Nice To Haves

  • Surgical First Assist Certification not required.
