About The Position

Harborview Medical Center's Sexual Health Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time ARNP, Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant. The Sexual Health Clinic is a Public Health-Seattle & King County service that provides confidential STD and HIV evaluation, screening, testing and treatment on a sliding-fee scale. The clinic can be accessed on a walk-in basis. As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine. It is dedicated to providing specialized care for a broad spectrum of patients from throughout the Pacific Northwest, including the most vulnerable residents of King County. Requirements

Master’s Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges
License to practice as an RN in Washington State
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
BLS certification
Licensure as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Washington
National certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA)
Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions
BLS certification

Responsibilities

Taking and recording detailed sexual histories
Performing physical examinations
Ordering appropriate diagnostic tests.
Performing on site laboratory tests
Providing patient counseling, risk reduction education, and referral for partner management services
Dispensing and or/prescribing medications
Participating in clinical research studies
Training medical and public health professionals in the provision of Sexual Health clinical services
Assuring confidentiality of services per HIPAA and state laws
