About The Position

We are actively recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Trauma team at Tampa General Hospital (TGH). TGH is the only American College of Surgeons Verified Level I Trauma Center for adults and children in the Tampa metro area and one of the busiest trauma centers in Florida. TGH is the primary teaching hospital for the University of South Florida and has students and residents as part of the care team. The APP on the TGH Trauma Medical Care Service will work closely with the attending and multi professional team on a daily basis. Primary responsibilities will include providing new patient evaluations, follow-up care for inpatients, communication with families, participation on process improvement projects, and clinical coordination with social work and case management. The APP are part of the Division of Acute Care Surgery, University of South Florida which administrates the Surgical / Trauma ICU, trauma service, and the emergency general surgery service. The PA/APRN provides nursing and medical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems. Maintains an annual protocol with supervising physician, as required by state professional regulatory agencies. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values in accordance with Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • Master's degree Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • License - Issued by Florida or Compact State
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
  • Acute Care certification, Adult Gerontology Acute Care certification or Nationally Accredited Physician Assistant Board certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant preferred
