The APRN or Physician Assistant provides nursing and medical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems. Maintains an annual protocol with supervising physician, as required by state professional regulatory agencies. The APP medically manages the patient in the outpatient setting prior to surgery and is also involved in the post operative routine follow ups. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to ordering labs and imaging, diagnosing and managing any symptoms related to bariatric surgery, and providing weight management. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values in accordance with Tampa General Hospital.
