UVA Health is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) specializing in Vascular Medicine to join our esteemed team. The Vascular Medicine team is expanding adding both physicians and APP positions to the ambulatory team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside leading vascular medicine specialists in a dynamic care team, providing comprehensive care to patients with vascular conditions such as varicose veins, lymphedema, leg swelling, CVD, venous insufficiency, TOS, PAD, HTN, HLD, DVT/VTE. Other more complex vascular conditions including malformations, aortitis/arteritis, renal aneurysms/dissections, Raynaud's with wounds, HHT, HAAP, the branch of the decision tree with mesenteric disease, MALS, celiac artery aneurysms, SCAD, FMD, KTW, Birt-Hogg Dube, aortic dissections may be co-managed with the physician and APP.

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients with vascular diseases, including obtaining detailed medical histories and performing physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as ultrasounds, CT scans, and MRIs to assess vascular health.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, which may include medication management, lifestyle modifications, and coordination with surgical interventions.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding vascular conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Work closely with vascular medicine physicians, interventional radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) compliance with UVA Health policies and regulatory standards.
  • Travel off main campus to provide care at outreach locations (Augusta Specialty and Culpeper) averaging about once a month.
  • Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree.
  • License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia.
  • If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
  • Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position.
