About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Clinical Gastroenterology Fellowship offers a rare, immersive opportunity to gain specialized, postgraduate training in gastroenterology within a high-volume, academically rich outpatient setting. This 1-year program is designed to bridge advanced clinical practice with structured education, allowing the fellow to develop deep expertise across the full spectrum of gastrointestinal disease. Fellows will work closely with expert faculty, gaining hands-on experience while building the clinical reasoning, diagnostic confidence, and specialty knowledge required to excel as an APP in GI. This fellowship is strategically important to the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Division of Gastroenterology as it strengthens the APP workforce, supports high-quality patient care, and advances team-based specialty practice. Day-to-day, the fellow will participate in specialty clinics, manage complex GI conditions, complete structured didactics, and engage in self-directed learning through ACG modules. Graduates leave well-prepared for independent specialty practice, with the intent to transition into a permanent clinical role within the division upon completion.
