About The Position

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Advanced Practice Practitioner in our Denver Division. RMCC is the largest private multi-disciplinary medical practice on Colorado’s Front Range dedicated solely to providing state-of-the-art, comprehensive care for patients with cancer or diseases of the blood. Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • This position typically requires a minimum of one year of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner and 3-5 years in either in-patient or ambulatory oncology setting.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • Physician Assistant Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
  • This position requires at least one year of experience in either a critical care environment, internal medicine, or oncology. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures and /mentors trains other providers
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Consistently incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • In-depth knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Often provides case management for patients and their families.
  • Often serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
  • Provides palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
  • As subject matter expert, promotes/provides staff education
  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hours calls
  • Serves as subject matter expert to the community, providing education and resources as needed
  • Likely to supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff.
  • May serve in practice or network-wide APP leadership role
  • May precept APP students
  • Mentors new advanced practice providers.
  • Other duties as assigned
