We are seeking an Advanced Practice Practitioner PRN for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. The Advanced Practice Practitioner practices in an advanced practice role to provide cardiovascular care for the cardiac surgery patient population including assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of treatment and procedures and oversees the coordination of cardiac surgery patients' course of care during the hospital stay. The incumbent works in conjunction with Cardiovascular Services, Perioperative Services, Nursing Staff, and Medical Staff to ensure the highest level of care for patients.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in NP or graduate from a PA program.
  • California RN License or California Physician Assistant License.
  • ACLS and BCLS certifications.
  • National Nurse Practitioner Certification, and registered to practice as an NP or Physician Assistant.
  • Preferred two years mid-level experience in an acute care setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cardiovascular/Cardiac Surgery standards of care and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the entire continuum of care for cardiac surgery patients.
  • Formulate the appropriate differential diagnosis based on history, physical examination, and clinical findings.
  • Identify medical and health risks and needs.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of cardiovascular/cardiac surgery standards of care.
  • Interact with patients, prospective patients, patient families, nursing staff, medical staff, Cardiovascular Services staff, administrative team, and all ancillary staff.
  • Communicate with appropriate personnel and physicians to facilitate patient progress.
  • Collaborate with staff and leadership to assess the education needs of patients and their families.
  • Make recommendations regarding plan of care for complex/involved patients.
  • Consistently follow policies, procedures, and standards of care in practice.
