About The Position

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) II Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) practices in Primary Care Service, Compensation and Pension to provide a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs (VA) mission. The NP provides advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management. NOTE: The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this occupational series. Requirements

• 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Responsibilities

• Compensation & Pension exam reports for the official record of the Veterans' disability examinations.
• Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Performing special examinations, such as compensation and pension examination, examinations on outpatients and non-adjudicative employee health examination after appropriate training has been completed.
• Reviewing, evaluating, examining, and rendering professional judgment and clinical decisions regarding medical service connection claims.
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
• Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services.
