What you’ll do at DBH: Serve as a health care provider & perform advanced nursing duties within boundaries of licensure Provide primary psychiatric care Implement patient care plans & monitors progress of patients Intervene in the course of acute & psychiatric illness Completes comprehensive psychiatric exam & dictate findings Assess for suicidality, homicidality & evaluate necessity for further psychiatric testing or referral. Analyze relevant data & prescribe the appropriate medication Dictate discharge narrative summary Work in collaboration with supervising psychiatrist as required and outlined by Ohio Law Maintain a caseload of hospitalized patients as assigned by the Chief Clinical Officer Document medical information gathered during patient interviews according to hospital guidelines Provide clinical direction to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses & other caregivers Collaborates in agency programs & activities Participate in continuous quality improvement measures Serve on various nursing, medical & agency committees Attend staff meetings, in-service and other continuing education courses This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of #15 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule. This position is located at 1756 Sagamore Road, Northfield, Ohio. Working hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Flexible based on operational need. Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter. Additional Salary / Appointment Information: July 1, 2026, 3%25 percent pay increase Longevity supplement after 5 years of service Service supplement 2%25 at 12-24 months; 4%25 at 25-48 months; and 5%25 at 49 plus months

Requirements

  • Valid license as Registered Nurse
  • Completion of advanced level practice nurse program for Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Nurse Practitioner in psychiatric/mental health specialty & certified by Ohio Board of Nursing for advanced practice with valid certificate of authority & certificate to prescribe in accordance with ORC 4723
