About The Position

As a Primary Care APNP, you will be responsible for managing all urgent care conditions and chronic diseases for patients admitted to WMHI. You will provide on-call support to the nurses and psychiatrists at WMHI during regular business hours, which includes giving medical advice over the phone and possibly seeing WMHI patients during these hours. Additionally, you will coordinate medical care between interdisciplinary team members and communicate with Emergency Departments if a patient requires transfer for ongoing medical care.

Requirements

• License or eligible for license as an APNP by the State of Wisconsin.
• Training or experience managing chronic medical conditions.
• Training or experience working with Electronic Health Record software for documentation and patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with patients with mental health and substance abuse issues.
• Experience providing medical care and medical clearance independently.
• Experience working with the Electronic Health Record software Cerner.
