About The Position

This position is for a Physician within the Federal system, specifically located in Chinle, AZ; Kayenta, AZ; Gallup, NM; and Shiprock, NM. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position. This includes both paid and unpaid experience, such as volunteer work through National Service programs. Applicants must clearly identify their duties and responsibilities in previous positions, including total hours worked per week. The Hiring Manager may consider applicants who are completing a required professional training program expected to finish within 9 months of applying. Basic requirements include a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent education from a foreign medical school. Licensure as a Physician is mandatory, along with at least one year of supervised clinical experience. For GS-13 level, three years of graduate training in the relevant specialty or equivalent experience is required. Additionally, applicants must meet a Selective Factor, which includes being Board Certified in the specialty or having completed an accredited residency program within the last three years.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a Physician.
  • At least one year of supervised clinical experience.
  • Three years of graduate training in the specialty of Emergency Medicine or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certified in the specialty of the position applied for.
  • Residency Diploma/Certificate from an accredited residency program.
  • Active pursuit of Board Certification if more than three years have passed since residency completion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a clinical setting.
  • Supervise and train medical interns and residents.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
