About The Position

This is a Part-Time 12hr, Night Shift position. The University Hospital Medical Intensive Care Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) (Nurse Practitioner, NP) provides direct patient care services for critically ill complex patients in an intensive care setting in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Medical ICU attending physicians. The APN performs physical exams, collects, and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications. Coordinates the care and discharge of patients and provides direct patient care services. The APN contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and provides leadership to the organization.

Requirements

• Currently licensed as RN in the State of New Jersey.
• Certified as APN by the Board of Nursing.
• MSN required.
• One (1) year of experience as an APN in a critical care setting required, or three (3) years of experience as a RN in a critical care setting required.
• BLS and ACLS required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with neuro patients preferred.
• CCRN preferred.
