About The Position

The position is for a full-time role in the Cardiology department at Advocate Health, specifically supporting ambulatory clinics in Barrington and Lake Zurich. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a pay range of $53.80 to $80.70. The major responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and managing treatment plans for patients, performing and interpreting diagnostic studies, providing health promotion and disease management education, and maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. The role also involves participating in quality and safety initiatives, onboarding new team members, and maintaining productivity and quality metrics.

Requirements

  • Active RN and APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice.
  • Active national board certification in area of clinical practice and populations served.
  • Active DEA registration prior to hire.
  • Active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire (if applicable).
  • Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • No experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and determine treatment and management plans appropriate for age and clinical condition.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies and prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
  • Manage conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, and assessment of risks/benefits.
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and disease management counseling and education.
  • Manage patients as part of an interdisciplinary team and seek consultations or referrals as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and peer review initiatives and departmental meetings.
  • Facilitate consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among healthcare team members.
  • Perform office or hospital procedures in accordance with specialty practice and granted privileges.
  • Participate in the education and onboarding of new team members and students.
