As an Advanced PLC Controls Engineer here at Honeywell Intelligrated, you will implement multiple electrical projects, serving as a lead for an integrated system or sub-system. You will provide planning, reporting and management of the electrical project, in addition to technical implementation. As an Electrical Controls Engineer, you will take full ownership of the controls project elements and executes and/or delegate individual tasks throughout the project life cycle by coordinating and forecasting electrical resources in-house and on site, which may include other Electrical Project Engineers. You will take a systems approach in understanding core design features, project elements, overall electrical architecture and manages the scope, budget, schedule, maintaining internal and external customer expectations throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • 5-7+ years of Controls Engineering Experience in a similar role.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60-70% of the time.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Programming and Electrical Design.
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Experience with Codesys and ladder logic programming.
  • Servos and motion control experience.
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) programming and setup.
  • Knowledge of Network Protocols - Serial, Ethernet IP, Profinet.
  • Experience with Warehouse control system software interface and protocols.
  • Human-machine Interface system design experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related.
  • Experience with E-Commerce Material Handling Systems.
  • Leadership experience (Project Lead, Project Manager, Supervisor, Team Lead, or similar).
  • Experience leading a program or multiple projects at one time.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
  • Capability to update or modify working methods in your role by following defined procedures.
  • Project planning and budgeting skills.
  • Effective writing and verbal skills.
  • Interest and skill to collaborate with engineering functional teams.
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity.
  • Dexterity to evaluate and recommend technical solutions based on standard or accepted technical practices.
  • Capable of handling high-risk projects.

Responsibilities

  • Implement multiple electrical projects as a lead for an integrated system or sub-system.
