About The Position

The Advanced Pharmacy Technician position at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is a full-time role requiring 80 hours per pay period on the night shift, specifically from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with a commitment to work every other weekend. Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is a certified and accredited facility with 541 beds, recognized as a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center. The center is known for its advanced technology in various medical fields, including bariatric and robotic surgery, and has exceptional performance metrics for heart attack and hip fracture treatments. Pharmacy technicians at this facility have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge automated technology and engage in various roles, including compounding IVs and chemotherapy, pharmacy buying, and medication reconciliation.

Requirements

• Minimum education sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the required license and/or certification.
• Three (3) years of experience or two (2) years with State approved certification.
• Licensure Requirement: Must be licensed by the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy by the end of the first 90 days of hire and maintain active status thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Performs all position accountabilities and performance criteria for level I and level II technicians.
• Assists the pharmacist in the training of technicians in levels I and II.
• Initiates and/or coordinates improvement activities as appropriate.
• Assists in the implementation of new projects including the development of policies and procedures.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Completes required education assignments annually.
• Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
