About The Position

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic nurse to work within the Specialist Palliative Care team, 7-day service. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering an innovative service model that aims to provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families. You will need to have good clinical knowledge around end of life care, complex symptom control and advanced communication skills. As a band 7 ANP you will be required to support and lead the day-to-day service and help manage more junior staff. We also encourage our Specialist Palliative Care team to take part in education both within the team and across the trust and will be expected to take on project work to improve service delivery. As a band 7 advanced nurse practitioner you will deliver autonomous advanced level clinical practice to patients with complex specialist palliative and end of life care needs. Your role will encompass elements of clinical practice, education, research, leadership and service development whilst maintaining a strong focus on patient centered holistic care. Requirements

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
• Qualification in advanced health assessment
• V300 non-medical prescribing qualification (or view to obtain this)
• Specialist palliative care clinical experience, managing patients with complex needs within an acute setting
• Excellent communication, clinical decision making and leadership skills
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, autonomous care to patients within Specialist Palliative Care using advanced clinical assessment and decision making skills.
• Support and advise complex symptom management for palliative care and end of life patients.
• Support and mentor junior staff contributing to their development and overall capability of the team.
• Develop and deliver teaching sessions to team members and wider teams.
• Actively participate in service improvement initiatives, research, and audit activities to enhance clinical practice and patient outcomes.
• Ensure safe and effective clinical practice through evidence based care adhering to our professional code of conduct.
• Enhance patient experience by delivering compassionate, and holistic personalised care.
