About The Position

The Advanced Modality Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures in a minimum of one advanced modality on adult and pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. You will report to department leadership.

Requirements

  • Associate degree
  • ARRT certification or;
  • ARDMS certification in specific modality
  • General knowledge of respective advanced modality
  • Certification in Post Primary Registry within 18 months of employment
  • One [1] year of directly related experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality advanced modality procedures; maintain production and quality of imaging procedures following established standards and procedures.
  • Identify patient service requirements and their ability to tolerate exam, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and family members.
  • Prepare patient and area for procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Protect patients and staff by adhering to safety requirements, infection control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques; use proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards; work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment and report issues to management.
  • Ensure individuals are safe to enter the department by completing screening processes following approved policies and procedures.
  • Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation including requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status and shielding precautions taken, consent form, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain medical imaging records in various systems following department policies and standards.
  • Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.
