General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer to join us in our San Jose, CA location. This position provides an opportunity to further advance cutting-edge technologies that support some of our nations core defense/intelligence services and systems. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The Mechanical Engineer provides electronic packaging, interconnect and cable design associated with large and small scale antenna ground systems. The engineer will be actively involved in all interconnect and cable design aspects of those systems they are assigned. The engineer will generate the associated cabling data package and BOMs and support the associated procurement, product builds, system installations and acceptance tests. The engineer will support the generation of site facilities interface specifications, to include monitoring facilities design and construction to ensure system physical requirements and specifications are implemented satisfactorily. The role will include working with the program team and sub-contractors in addition to interfacing with customer representatives.
