About The Position

The position involves providing instruction to students in various areas of Advanced Manufacturing, including manual milling, manual turning, various grinding tools, cutting tools, hand tools, power tools, CNC milling machines, and CNC turning machines. Instructors will also teach GD&T, blueprint reading, threading, G-code reading, and shop safety. It is essential to ensure that industry standards are incorporated into the instruction, along with related safety procedures and industry protocols. Additionally, the ability to instruct in SOLIDWORKS and CAM is desired.

Requirements

  • AS degree in a related discipline; Bachelor's degree is a bonus.
  • Industry relevant certification(s) with strong work history and industry experience can substitute for a degree.
  • OSHA-10 certification required within 90 days of hire if not already held.
  • Minimum 2 years industrial background in manufacturing, computerized controls, or fabrication.
  • Machining skills and technical proficiency on the use of vertical mills and lathes are required.
  • Prior experience in training adults, students, or in-house staff in technical areas is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience with non-traditional adult students in a post-secondary setting is a bonus.
