The Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) Information Data Technology and Security (IDT&S) Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Architecture organization is currently seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Technologist (Senior or Lead) to join the team in Everett, WA; North Charleston, SC; or Renton, WA. As a Boeing Technologist specializing in Factory Modernization, you will drive the integration of advanced technologies and innovative manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, quality, and safety. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to implement smart factory solutions, automation, and digital transformation initiatives that support Boeing Commercial Airplane's vision for next-generation aerospace manufacturing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the integration of factory automation equipment into manufacturing systems
  • 5+ years of experience with advanced technologies like IoT, digital thread and digital twin, and Model Based Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience supporting CAD tools & corresponding data management system
  • 5+ years of experience in managing a team or as a technical lead
  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership

Nice To Haves

  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience
  • Advanced certifications or training in automation, robotics, or digital manufacturing
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies and smart factory implementations
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing standards and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Lead the evaluation, development, and deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies such as automation, robotics, Industry of Things (IoT), and digital twins to modernize factory operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement smart factory solutions that improve production throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality
  • Model and analyze computing systems and their technology to validate and provide recommendations and insights
  • Consult with Boeing Defense Systems and Boeing Global Services senior manufacturing technologists and architects to understand implications of technology decisions
  • Use manufacturing process knowledge to analyze risk and recommend solutions to various engineering & manufacturing departments on usage of new Manufacturing Execution System technologies
  • Support the integration of data analytics, machine learning, and real-time monitoring systems to enable predictive maintenance and process optimization
  • Develop technical documentation, architecture models and views to support new technology implementation
  • Work closely with suppliers and technology partners to evaluate and implement cutting-edge manufacturing systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines during technology implementation
  • Stay current with emerging trends in factory automation, Industry 4.0, digital twin and aerospace manufacturing technologies
