Advanced Manufacturing Technician
About The Position
NEINFAME focuses on developing critical professional skills while attending classes and earning an associate degree with education partner, Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne. Students will attend Ivy Tech classess two days a week and work onsite at Steel Dynamics three days a week. This two year program is designed to prepare students for full time employment as an Advanced Manufacturing Technician. Upon completion of the program, students have a high probability of no student debt, and the option to continue to earn a bachelor’s degree. Anyone tht will earn a high school diploma by June of 2024 and a desire to gain hands-on, technical training is eligible to apply!
Requirements
- Must obtain a high school diploma by June of 2024
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Must have demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Safety awareness
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Must have reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Assist with repair of equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Follow all safety principles and practices to ensure a safe work environment.
- Learn the role of Maintenance Technician and all of the duties.
- Assist in producing a quality product for our customers by having well maintained equipment.
- Assist in ensuring all environmental protocols are followed and executed.
- Attend class and maintain successful progress toward Associate’s Degree.
- Familiarizing and learning about various aspects of the operation
- Attend and lead safety meeting and toolbox talks.
- All other duties as assigned.
