About The Position

Join the nation’s largest remanufacturer of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, air and fuel components as an intern next summer! We are seeking a hands-on and driven Advanced Manufacturing Technician Intern to support our automotive remanufacturing operations at our headquarters facility in Jasper, Indiana. This role provides exposure to the full remanufacturing lifecycle—from teardown and inspection to machining, reassembly, and testing. As part of a team focused on sustainability, quality, and cost-effectiveness, you’ll help ensure worn or failed automotive components are restored to like-new condition using advanced processes and equipment. Ideal candidates are pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology or Precision Machining Program.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program in Advanced Manufacturing Technology or Precision Machining or related field.
  • Interest in automotive systems and/or experience or coursework related to automotive engines and transmissions.
  • Basic knowledge of machining, mechanical systems, and diagnostic/test equipment.
  • Familiarity with tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, and multimeters.
  • Understanding of manufacturing safety, quality procedures, and lean principles.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, or schematics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly processes for machine tooling
  • Operate and support CNC machines, automated testers, and specialized equipment used in remanufacturing workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, design engineering, supply chain) to ensure manufacturability and scalability.
  • Work with technicians and engineers to evaluate new tooling, fixtures, and test methods.
  • Analyze production data to drive improvements in OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and first-pass yield.
  • Help implement process improvements to reduce scrap, increase efficiency, and ensure repeatability in high-volume reman lines.
