In this role, you will help develop manufacturing tools and processes that support the production of HVAC/R control products. You will gain experience with electronics hardware, systems, software scripting, and process engineering while supporting our global manufacturing partners and helping make our product designs easier and more efficient to build. How you will do it: Support the development of manufacturing tools, fixtures, and test methods Assemble product and sub‑assemblies for validation Build and maintain test setups Perform component‑level and system‑level factory testing Write test reports and document process updates Update and create manufacturing processes and work instructions Maintain manufacturing cost models for product designs Improve lab organization, equipment, and infrastructure Support troubleshooting for printed circuit board assemblies and prototype builds Learn to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Participate in design‑for‑manufacturing (DFM) and process‑improvement activities Write simple Python scripts to automate test or manufacturing tasks Use AI tools as needed to augment work

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a 4‑year bachelor’s program in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Able to work full time during semester breaks and at least 12 hours per week during academic sessions
  • Strong interest in hands‑on engineering and learning multiple disciplines
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to perform hands‑on lab and prototype work
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering principles
  • Ability to follow and create processes and standard work
  • Interest in Python scripting (experience helpful but not required)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Quick learner with the ability to work through complex problems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with prototype assembly or testing
  • Basic knowledge of electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with mechanical or electrical CAD tools
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes or industrial tools
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, or Lean principles
