About The Position

A family-owned commercial heat treater is looking for an Advanced Maintenance Technician to join our team. We seek a reliable employee who wants to learn and grow with a stable company. We are seeking a millwright or skilled industrial mechanic type person to assist with routine preventative maintenance, furnace and other equipment repairs, and large-scale projects.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment in the field(s) of Heat Treating, Electrical Maintenance, Millwright, Industrial Furnace Repair, or other related industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude that will enable safe operation of a variety of equipment and tools.
  • A proven track record of reliability and learning in previous roles.
  • Ability to withstand shop and outdoor conditions (hot/cold, dirty)
  • Ability to work as a team, able to switch activities as needs arise, willingness to perform tasks ranging from simple to complex
  • Effective verbal communication with team members, other employees, and supervisors.
  • Basic computer and technology skills, including use of a tracking station, time clock, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional education or certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantles, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains industrial heating equipment, pumps, indexes, motors, electrical and mechanical controls and devices, blasting machines, cranes, PLC's and other related equipment.
  • Installs and maintains electrical devices, compressed air, and natural gas within the facility.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment within the facility.
  • Applies safe operating procedures during the performance of work.
  • Accurately completes written records and maintain logs as required.
  • Proper use and operation of materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Thread pipe, soldering, and brazing copper pipe.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams for electrical work.
  • Ability to use Voltmeters and Amp meters to test circuits.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and run electrical conduit and wiring.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems.
  • Inspect machinery to diagnose malfunctions in equipment, repair replace defective equipment as necessary.
  • Fabricate replacement parts when necessary.
  • Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order.
  • Disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment.
  • Complete basic welding tasks.
  • Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
