About The Position

Reconn in Colorado has an immediate need for a seasoned locate technician with a preferred but not required, minimum of 3 years experience and demonstrated attention to detail to join the team serving the University of Colorado in Boulder. The work environment is beautiful, but the position's demands are extremely high. CU is a tier-one utility owner and operator with billions of dollars of infrastructure underground on and between multiple campuses, research centers, and housing complexes, throughout south Boulder and as far as the top of the continental divide. The ideal candidate will have had experience locating most of these types of utilities and will be able to use all the related equipment such as routers, ball and marker locators, grey water pumps, material lifts, Pipe Horn and other induction machines, lid detectors, and electrical test and safety equipment. Candidates must be able to successfully complete course work to become certified as a Traffic Control Technician and Flagger and in First Aid, Confined Space Entry, Electrical Safety, and Asbestos and Hazmat Awareness. Prints used on campus are provided by a link to the campus VPN. They are supplemented by DWG and drawings. All are extremely complex and require extreme attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have had experience with CAD programs and GIS mapping systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience (preferred)
• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs
• Computer proficiency
• Available to work overtime and weekends (as needed)
• Able to pass a drug screen
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
• Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills required
• Outstanding safety/quality record
• High level of organizational skills, excellent time management skills, and the ability to focus on details
