The Systems Engineering Advanced Lead Engineer will help develop GE Aerospace’s Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) product line, empowering the Common Core Systems team to shape and execute technical strategies for multiple aircraft platforms, redefining the future of IMA aviation systems. This role drives impact across functional, business, and company-wide objectives. Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities consider both the business and the technical needs of our customers with the goal of providing a safe and quality product that meets the user’s needs. This discipline executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs/practices, and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. The scope of responsibilities is from concept to production to operations. This role impacts departmental operations, is responsible for the execution of systems engineering verification & validation activities and contributes to project planning and bids. Tasks are governed by certification guidelines along with standard functional practices and procedures and will include analytical thinking to derive at results and outcomes, which can be supported with guidance as needed. Hybrid Work Environment: 3 days/week on-site (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday). Optional remote Monday and Friday. Location Preference: Local to the greater Grand Rapids, MI area is preferred. Alternative is the Clearwater, FL area, for candidates who excel in remote work
