About The Position

Virtua Health is seeking a fellowship-trained Interventional Gastroenterologist to join its rapidly expanding Digestive Health program. This is a unique opportunity to build and grow an advanced endoscopy program within a high-performing, physician-led organization. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of more than 50 gastroenterologists and subspecialists delivering comprehensive digestive care across South Jersey. Virtua GI & Digestive Health offers a fully integrated, multidisciplinary model, including interventional gastroenterology, hepatology and liver care, IBD specialists and motility program, colorectal surgery, oncology, and nutrition services. The interventional GI team focuses on diagnosing and treating complex pancreaticobiliary and GI disorders using minimally invasive, advanced endoscopic techniques. The role is ideal for a physician with advanced training in ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography), EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound), advanced polypectomy and EMR/possibly ESD, luminal stenting and management of GI malignancies, and pancreaticobiliary interventions. Barrett’s esophagus therapies (e.g., ablation) are also available if interested. Virtua’s program emphasizes minimally invasive procedures with faster recovery and improved outcomes. This is an employed position within a 1,700+ provider, clinician-led multispecialty group, offering access to state-of-the-art endoscopy suites and technology, a strong referral network, and dedicated APP and clinical support.

Requirements

  • Board-certified/board-eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Completion of Advanced/Interventional Gastroenterology fellowship
  • Expertise in ERCP and EUS required
  • Strong interest in multidisciplinary, team-based care

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced interventional GI procedures (ERCP, EUS, complex endoscopy)
  • Collaborate with surgery, oncology, hepatology, and radiology teams
  • Participate in interventional gastroenterology call rotation
  • Contribute to program growth, quality initiatives, and teaching
