About The Position

HCA Florida JFK Hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular team in Palm Beach County, Florida. This unique position combines a clinical focus in advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support (LVAD program) with a leadership role as Program Director for our established ACGME-accredited General Cardiology Fellowship Program. You will join a collaborative team of two advanced heart failure cardiologists, dedicated APPs, and a full multidisciplinary support staff. Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiology with fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology.
  • Eligible for Florida medical licensure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to education, mentorship, and scholarly activity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a fellowship program director or associate program director strongly preferred; candidates with strong academic credentials and leadership potential encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Inpatient and outpatient advanced heart failure management (2 weeks inpatient, 2 weeks outpatient).
  • Consultative responsibilities, including ICU coverage.
  • Call schedule: 1:3, supported by advanced practice providers.
  • LVAD program involvement with opportunity to expand advanced therapies.
  • No ER call.
  • Full oversight of the General Cardiology Fellowship Program, including:
  • Development, implementation, and continuous improvement of curriculum, clinical rotations, didactics, and scholarly activity.
  • Recruitment, selection, and mentorship of fellows.
  • Ensuring ACGME compliance and accreditation standards.
  • Faculty development, performance evaluation, and mentorship
  • Fostering a culture of inclusivity, professionalism, and fellow well-being.
  • Strategic planning to advance program reputation through innovation in training and academic partnerships.
  • Serve as the visible leader for academic cardiology within JFK Hospital and the East Florida Division of HCA Healthcare.
