The Role: In this role you will work with the harvest management and supervision teams to generate weekly forecasts of product supply and quality. Through communication and cross departmental collaboration, work to mitigate and improve projected issues. Gain a deep understanding of how weather conditions, crew workmanship, planting schedules and growing practices affect harvest yields and customer quality. Location(s): Salinas, CA

  • Create a comprehensive forecast for each individual field scheduled to harvest over a rolling 6 week period, including projected harvest date, yield, sizing and any quality issues present
  • Identify specific quality issues and work with growers to mitigate/improve quality
  • Correctly match each field to the best fit customer, in order to maximize yield and quality
  • Communicate supply shortages or overages to the sales department, help tailor demand to availability
  • Collaborate with harvest supervision team in order to closely monitor workmanship and crew productivity, especially as they relate to the execution of the previous week's supply forecast
  • Pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Excel)
  • Basic understanding of crop physiology, farming practices, and environmental factors influencing agriculture.
  • Ability to translate nuanced and complex information in a concise manner to stakeholders without firsthand knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to work inconsistent/long hours when required
  • Loves working within a group setting to accomplish challenging shared goals
