About The Position

Are you ready to shape the next generation of strong, confident athletes? As an Advanced Gymnastics & Tumbling Coach, you’ll be the mentor who blends skill mastery with encouragement, creating a training environment where athletes thrive. Your leadership will help kids discover just how far they can go — in the gym and beyond. As an Advanced Gymnastics & Tumbling Coach, you’ll inspire athletes to reach new heights by blending fun, energy, and encouragement with technical precision and skill progression. You’ll lead challenging yet supportive classes for older and more experienced recreational athletes, helping them build strength, confidence, and discipline while advancing through higher-level gymnastics skills. With positivity and structure, you’ll create an environment where athletes feel motivated to push themselves safely, grow as individuals, and celebrate their progress.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 16 years old
  • Proven background in gymnastics (intermediate/advanced level experience required)
  • Ability to spot and demonstrate advanced gymnastics skills safely
  • Must be available for consistent weekly scheduling during the school year

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coaching or working with children in athletic/recreational settings (preferred)
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Instruct weekly gymnastics classes for intermediate and advanced recreational athletes.
  • Provide technical corrections, advanced spotting, and age-appropriate challenges to promote progression.
  • Balance a fun and engaging atmosphere with discipline, structure, and focus on long-term development.
  • Create a welcoming and supportive class environment aligned with Dominique Dawes Academy’s philosophy of holistic child development.
  • Maintain safety at all times by applying proper progressions, spotting, and injury-prevention techniques.
  • Monitor athletes closely and respond promptly to safety concerns following academy protocols.
  • Positively engage with parents before and after classes to provide feedback and build community.
  • Collaborate with teammates and management to ensure smooth class transitions and program consistency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized training space and assist with setup/takedown of equipment.
  • Attend required staff training sessions, team meetings, and seasonal evaluations.
  • Represent the academy’s values of respect, teamwork, and excellence in all interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
