The Generalist Engineer will be a part of the game creation process, including architectural design, implementation, and debugging on multiple platforms—working on complex problems with Designers, Artists and other Engineers in domains including rendering, gameplay, audio, user interface, online, physics, databases and tools. You will report to the team's manager and work with your peers to develop the game.

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience in software development with a strong C++ focus.
  • Proficiency in integrating and maintaining large-scale systems covering multiple domains.
  • Understanding of memory management, multiple processor use, and run-time optimization.
  • Advanced debugging skills applicable to client/server multiplayer games.
  • Experience developing in and debugging multi-threaded/concurrent architectures.
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with Visual Studio and knowledge of the debugging tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with game development engines (Unreal, Unity).

Responsibilities

  • Work on technical solutions covering broad areas of game development technologies, game features and optimizations of frame-rate and load-times.
  • Work with other domain owners to integrate and develop technologies into the game.
  • Analyze impact to core metrics throughout the development cycle.
  • Actively share domain knowledge, teach and mentor engineers within their team.
  • Design, implement and document technology and strategies to facilitate the development of games mechanics in a multiplayer environment by other team members.
  • Own features and collaborate with team members to solve problems efficiently.
