The Advanced EMT position at Acadian Ambulance involves providing timely and efficient pre-hospital advanced and basic life support care and transportation for the sick and injured. The role requires adherence to local, state, national, and company standards of practice, ensuring patient safety and effective communication with medical personnel.

Conduct careful examinations of patients for signs and symptoms of illness/injury.
Administer basic and advanced life support care within the limits of licensure or certification.
Provide safe and efficient transport of patients in the ambulance to medical facilities.
Document all aspects of patient condition and treatment on EMS run reports.
Conduct regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all equipment is present and in working order.
Responsible for the proper use of the ambulance's basic life support equipment.
Document and report all needed repairs to maintenance departments and supervisors.
Control the patient's surroundings to minimize further danger in emergencies.
Drive the ambulance safely and efficiently, following company guidelines.
Attend all mandatory meetings and complete assigned station duties.
Order supplies and equipment to replenish inventories as needed.
Precept new employees and EMT students if approved as a preceptor.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
National and/or State certification as an Advanced EMT.
Current CPR certification as established by the American Heart Association.
Current and valid state-issued driver's license.
Ability to read, write, and communicate professionally and effectively.
Knowledge of company protocols, operational procedures, and safety regulations.
Ability to drive large vehicles in normal and adverse conditions.

Experience in emergency medical services or related fields.
Familiarity with advanced medical equipment and protocols.
