About The Position

Make the world’s most advanced development program supporting nuclear delivery systems (NDS) even smarter As an Adavnced Systems Engineer for our Development Programs within the Strategic Weapons Control (SWC) portfolio, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for a critical national security program dedicated to modernizing our nation's nuclear deterrent. This project supports the advanced development of nuclear delivery technologies, subsystems, and components for Navy reentry systems. You will be part of a team working to reduce operational and technological risk by developing and maturing technologies through a series of experiments. This effort includes the development of Government Reference Design (GRD) experimental reentry bodies to evaluate and demonstrate new technologies in areas such as Aeroshell, Fuzing, and Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC). We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Systems Engineering Lifecycle Management: The ability to perform and manage activities across the entire development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, trade studies, integration, and verification. Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A): The skill to use modeling and simulation to inform design, analyze performance, and evaluate system behavior, which is critical for a program relying on experiments and tests to mature technology. System Design and Integration: The capability to design complex systems and define the interfaces between components (like Aeroshell, Fuzing, and GNC subsystems) to ensure they work together effectively as a complete system.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Very solid understanding and application of systems engineering principles, concepts, and theories.
  • Very solid use of tools for managing requirements and modeling systems.
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle complex assignments related to advanced defense technologies.
  • Very solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly report technical information.
  • Awareness of business objectives and engineering's role in achieving them.
  • Very solid ability to effectively use Microsoft Office tools.
