About The Position

We are looking for an Advanced Controls Engineer to join our Critical Handling Solutions (CHS) business segment. This team specializes in designing and building a variety of high performance, high reliability custom crane and lifting equipment. We serve several diverse industries including aerospace, nuclear test laboratories, commercial nuclear plants, and various other industries that have a need for the most advanced lifting systems that are possible. Be a part of designing the machines that lift anything from F35 fighter jets to nuclear reactors, to rocket ships!

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • 3-8 years of software development experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communications skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites to support installation and commissioning of machinery.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Siemens PLCs.
  • Prior experience with NQA-1 quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and drive control systems to produce industry-leading products and solutions.
  • Program and debug complex software applications with a variety of platforms.
  • Develop software management documentation, including Software Design Descriptions (SDDs), Software Verification and Validation Plans (SVVPs), etc.
  • Create custom software under PAR Systems’ software quality program.
  • Utilize experience, skills, and software tools to track tasks, project requirements, and maintain version control of code.
  • Work closely with Controls Engineers to ensure selected hardware meets project requirements.
  • Collaborate as a committed team member during all phases of development including onsite integration when required.
