As an Advanced Controls Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and optimizing cutting-edge electrical systems that enhance product performance and reliability. Your expertise in circuit design, power distribution, and system integration will directly impact product innovation, quality, and efficiency. This role serves as the technical design lead in the specification, design, documentation, testing, and commissioning of electrical control enclosures. At the core you will design and develop control systems for marine equipment, ensuring they meet technical and contractual requirements. Partnership is key to success and includes collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and project engineers to deliver fully integrated solutions, providing equipment functionality that satisfies technical specifications.

  • Design and optimize electrical systems for product performance and reliability.
  • Serve as the technical design lead in the specification, design, documentation, testing, and commissioning of electrical control enclosures.
  • Design and develop control systems for marine equipment.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and project engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Prepare technical sections of proposals and assess risks.
  • Provide labor estimates for project execution.
  • Implement design changes through formal Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Support product/process enhancements.
  • Organize resources and manpower based on project prioritization.
  • Manage multiple projects and ensure on-time task completion.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 5 years of design experience for the control of heavy machinery or marine equipment.
  • Specific experience in variable speed drives, position servo controls, and specification of motors and feedback devices.
  • Expert understanding of control logic, PLC, and HMI programming.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience developing RSLogix5000 applications.
  • Proficient in 2D CAD Software: AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Working knowledge of Project Management.
  • Good communication skills for presenting technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR and government contracting.
