About The Position

Advanced CNC Manufacturing Technician Your mission Build parts that power critical industries. At Ingersoll Rand, you’ll transform drawings into precise components, sustain print-level accuracy to 0.0002 in, and help optimize a production cell that values safety, quality, and flow. Role impact Translate blueprints, sketches, and job packets into accurate setups and machining strategies. Configure cutting tools, attachments, and materials; operate mills, lathes, grinders, machining centers, drill presses, and drill machines. Load, retrieve, and edit control data on CNC equipment; monitor runs and correct out-of-tolerance conditions through offset and tooling adjustments. Verify parts using precision metrology tools and techniques; perform rework when specifications aren’t met. Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production teams to resolve machining problems and elevate process capability. Follow ISO procedures and safety rules, including PPE and hoist inspections. Maintain digital and physical traceability: locations, work order cover sheets, daily production sheets, status updates, and quality records. Route work to the next operation per sequence, sustain 5S, and drive improvements in cell layout and process efficiency. Engage in frequent team communication; attend monthly departmental meetings and quarterly town halls.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Read/interpret safety rules, O&M instructions, blueprints, memos, and procedures; communicate clearly with small groups and individuals.
  • Perform calculations with values from 0.0001 to 0.1 and convert between metric and US units.
  • Execute detailed written/oral instructions; solve multi-variable problems using methods like the 5 Whys.
  • Physical: stand/walk up to 8 hours; lift 35 lbs solo or 70 lbs with assistance repeatedly; push/pull up to 35 lbs; corrected vision no worse than 20/35.

  • Experience with depth/bore/height/feeler gages, micrometers, calipers, deburring tools, die grinders, drill presses, and overhead lifting equipment
