Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/. The Advanced Clinical Research group leads the design and execution of early clinical research and early‑stage clinical studies for J&J MedTech Heart Recovery. We are seeking a motivated co‑op student to support the development, structuring, and analysis of clinical databases for several upcoming studies. This role focuses on integrating mechanistic measurements (e.g., hemodynamics) with clinical outcomes to guide the design of future trials.

Requirements

  • Experience working with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc.)
  • Proficiency with data science / machine learning tools: Python (numpy, pandas, scikit‑learn) R (tidyverse, ggplot2)
  • Git, Jupyter Notebooks, Quarto
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and analytical methods
  • Experience working with APIs
  • Strong attention to detail in both written and visual presentation of findings
  • Excellent collaboration skills and interest in working closely with clinicians and scientists
  • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Structure, clean, and curate clinical databases across multiple studies
  • Conduct independent analyses on large datasets
