About The Position

Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager (or Executive DON, Ambulatory), the Advanced Clinical Nurse delivers high-quality, age-appropriate nursing care in close collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary partners. This role is a key clinical resource, leading and supporting exceptional patient experiences across the care continuum. As an Advanced Clinical Nurse, you will take ownership of comprehensive patient care—conducting assessments, administering medications, identifying and addressing patient needs, and developing individualized care plans. You will provide or delegate care in alignment with Valleywise Health standards, serve as a strong patient advocate and educator, and ensure accurate, timely documentation. You will also offer indirect supervision to ancillary team members and actively contribute to a supportive, collaborative team environment. This position exemplifies professional excellence, using advanced clinical skills, sound judgment, and compassionate practice to deliver safe, cost-effective, and meaningful care in a diverse healthcare setting. In addition, you will help elevate the practice environment through participation in leadership activities, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous professional growth. Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities, or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health then must have at least one (1) year of Valleywise Health experience as a RN and be in good standing.
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, a temporary AZ RN license, or avalid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer successfully.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous acute care hospital experience in the area he or she is applying for is preferred.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • PreOp/PACU (Other than Peoria): Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer.
  • PreOp/PACU (Other than Peoria): Must obtain TCAR and PCAR within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer.
